Your parliamentary representatives and local councillors are responsible for amplifying your concerns, and prioritising your wellbeing. The public’s voice is loud and clear. Manoel Island should belong to the people; a national public park for all of us to enjoy instead of apartments and commercial establishments for the wealthy.

Dear representative


I am writing to you as you have a responsibility to represent me, as a resident in your area, in public fora to defend my rights and well-being. Over 29,000 residents of the Maltese Islands have signed a petition calling for Manoel Island to be returned to the public as a national heritage park instead of being developed into luxury apartments and commercial establishments for the rich. I, too, support this call.

Us residents need non-commercial spaces for our recreation, physical, and mental health. Manoel Island could offer the only such sanctuary for thousands of people. I am calling on you to publicly take a stand in support of the call to shelve construction and commercialisation plans on Manoel Island and create a public open green space which respects the heritage and the general public.
